From President’s Desk:

Dear Friends,
My heartfelt thanks to all those who made it possible to successfully hold the Convention on Human Rights Social Justice on December 10, 2016 as part of worldwide celebrations of World Human Rights Day 2016 at the Country Club, Andheri (W), Mumbai, the theme of this years Human Rights Day was Stand Up For Someones Rights Today the subsequent publication of this Souvenir. At the onset, let me congratulate all on World Human Rights Day 2016 and pay my respectful tribute from bottom of the heart to those who laid their precious lives while protecting the human rights of people around the world and protesting against all types of violations of human rights and non-delivery of social justice to the deprived among us.

Human Rights and Social Justice is not limited to rights only but involves a lot of responsibilities also. In view of ongoing global war against mass violations of Human Rights world-over, the year of 2016 is going to witness a very strong role being played by education and the social media in order to save and protect Human Rights delivery of Social Justice. No one can protect human rights and expect delivery of Social Justice through weapons and the only way out is to provide basic needs and related rights such as adequate food, water, shelter, education, electricity for survival and most important, create more awareness not only about human rights social justice and how to achieve and protect them, but also to be aware and dutiful towards respecting and caring the human rights and delivery of social justice to our fellow citizens, particularly the needy to save this world and then only we can talk about Human Rights Social Justice. We can speak about Human Rights Social Justice only if, mankind is allowed to survive and people take care of their fellow citizens with love, affection and unity which are essential ingredients and main pillars of Human Rights Social Justice. This is high time to act positively help mankind to sustain for our own future. This publication is an attempt not only to analyse the existing data-sets but also to sensitize the policy makers and the general public at large.

I hope this publication, which is the seventeenth in the series, would be useful for the planners, policy makers, research workers, academicians and general public to peep into the existing women men status in India and to take corrective steps to improve the prevailing situation.

I once again congratulate all on this harmonious occasion in anticipation of marching ahead with united approach to safeguard Human Rights and ensure timely delivery of Social Justice to the underprivileged to have a balanced society and a Prosperous India. I thank all the members, well-wishers, sympathisers, friends and all associated with PFHR directly or indirectly for their invaluable ideas, contributions and guidance which have always been a guiding force for us in our endeavour, I assure that PFHR would continue its mission human rights and social justice till last person.

Thank you!
RAKESH PANDEY, PRESIDENT
