Founded in 2006 in the Home-State of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, Gujarat, with sole aim to safeguard the Human Rights of the under-privileged, as guaranteed under our Constitution and to ensure that Social Justice is delivered to the last person, Progressive Foundation of Human Rights (PFHR) has been working restlessly for the cause of Human Rights & Social Justice of downtrodden, deprived of their Human Rights and towards the uplift of the masses those lack knowledge about their Human Rights due to wide range of reasons, for many generations. Social Justice refers to the concept of a society where justice is achieved in every aspect.

Progressive Foundation of Human Rights (PFHR) is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan and not-for-profit Human Rights advocacy organisation established in 2006. It seeks to remove impediments to democratic development and meaningful enjoyment of the fundamental freedoms enshrined in Indian Constitution and other internationally recognised Human Rights instruments. Registered legally as a Human Rights entity under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 vide Registration Number F/1362/Gandhinagar and under Registration of Societies Act 1860 vide Registration Number Guj/1406/Gandhinagar as charitable and not-for-profit non-government organisation, the Registered Office of PFHR is located at Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, having registration under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Our Mission

To work for human rights and social justice for deprived masses, supporting for sustainable socio-economic development through participation in planning and implementation of development process and influencing the policies for transparent, responsive and responsible governance and empower the population to assert and claim their human rights.

PFHR has always been raising voice on every burning issue that impacts our daily life viz. Social Justice, Global Warming, Human Rights, HIV Aids, Women Empowerment, Free Press, Public Health, Environment and so on. As a part of the larger mandate of promotion and protection of human rights of the citizens of the country, PFHR is also particularly concerned about the inadequacy of Health Care Infrastructure in the country to take care of the ill patients. Many of the State-owned hospitals in the country lack basic infrastructural facilities and has been making efforts towards securing to this section of the population a life of dignity.
